The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. robot vacuum cleaner cheap is robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to cross mopping off the to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other options which makes it easier to maneuver in tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways in just one pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and poop with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into tight corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to collect larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a proprietary cleaning solution for its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install and performs well. However should you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping you must be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal choice for homeowners looking to purchase an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that incorporates LiDAR sensor technology and an RGB camera. This enables it to map out the home and also detect furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and intelligently. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean and is also quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach spots. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction level and select either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device comes with a high price tag but comes with a large selection of smart features. It is important to remember that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours, and the mop pads should be changed every three month.
The robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and includes a broad range of physical automation features. This includes an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean button, as well as a 'Home' button that will send it back to its base station after completing its cleaning session. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want a cleaner home without spending a lot of time on chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with little effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is an all-in-one mop and vacuum. It can do both vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two modules which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes microfiber pads. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated however, they mean you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the tank with water.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to draw an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which can help to protect certain areas of your home from being cleaned with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair from pets. It was able to capture some of the hair sheds from our cats. It even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots have struggled. The noise levels were low and there were nice jingles to signal that it was starting and finishing its work.
The app was too simple and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app isn't able to store multiple maps, which could be a hassle for homes with multiple floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that can be found in our review, however it has some distinctive features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its massive dock, which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning, and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base has several control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off a child lock that is a great feature for parents who are worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more precise at finding objects.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it gets entangled in a blockage like a power cable draped over a rug. It won't function until you remove it manually. While this was rare however, it was a gruelling experience when it did happen and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its application.
The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
